Cushions I like

I really like this fabric on the blue cushion.

{Image from style at home}

Inspired by Indian henna tattoos. These cushions have been embroidered with the tattoo patterns and different borders.

Hankercheif Quilt

I have a habit of collecting pretty embroidery and recently it has been in the form of hankercheifs. The only issue is that I don't use handkercheifs. So I was thinking of putting the ones collected into a quilt. I then googled to see if anyone else had thought of the idea already.

Yes! othere people had used the same idea.
I prefer the ones that show the edges of the handkecheifs as these are sometimes the prettiest part.

Wings

A great use for old fabric scraps is to make some wings.

You can get the instructions on how to make the wings here.

Tissue case holder

Very useful for keeping in your bag. I made mine out of white leather years ago but which was a good idea as it was waterproof but not so great with age. Time to make a new one I guess.

You can get the tutorial from here.

Fabric bows

A great way to use old fabric strips or recycle old sheets is to make fabric bows to decorate presents.

Tea

Both of these I found at thrift stores/markets, I'm starting a collection. I think metal tea strainers are a great idea as you don't have to use a tea bag so it's less expensive to buy. Especially I think the tea pot design in adorable.

Why haven't I seen this before

'A keep it warm'

{Image from mtss}

{Image from mtss}

I know 'A keep it warm' isn't this things name but I think it suits. I think it is a great idea. You but a tea candle in the 'A keep it warm' then set your freshly made tea or coffee container on top, and it will keep it at a good temp.

Oil & Vinegar Cruet

{Image from google}

Oil & vinegar in one combined bottle what an awesome idea also. Perfect for people who like oil and vinegar in their salad. Well that's almost everyone. Why haven't I seen this before. I think I should get out more.

Wooden block

The wood it's self is a nice thing to have but the addition of a photo makes it really special.

Postcard holder

Idea is from the march issue of oprah magazine from Peri Wolfman. I guess you would just have to keep your eyes out for an old post card holder. I would love one of those large spinning ones in the lounge room you could even label each section with where the photos were taken.

Wire frame

I like this as you can change photo's when you get sick of the ones there to change things up.

Personalised photo folders

I have posted this idea before but here you go again.

Dress form

I saw one of these last weekend at a thrift shop but it was $100 and broken. I was just thinking to myself I should go back and buy it. But then at a different thrift store I found the exact one not broken for $50. Wow! I bought it on the spot.
These are so great for fitting clothing. I'm not one to follow recipies or patterns. I'm always trying half made items on and pinning, then trying to take them off without pinning myself. No more pin injuries for me :)

I had one I made from ducktape and a T-shirt but I never really used it as it wasn't on a stand and it was just ugly. I never took a photo of it. I made it following instructions similar to these.

Hanging location & layouts

Framed picture fram

Hang picture then but a border around it for added effect. You could do this if a picture seemed to small for the space it had.

{Image from hgtv}

Low hanging

Hang a picture below a window.

{Image from hgtv}

Off centre

Hang a picture or clump of pictures off centre and use ornaments to even up the space.

{Image from hgtv}

Grid

This grid layout is good for displaying photos or post cards.

Tight Grid

{Image from apartment therapy}

I prefer this tight grid because of it's missing areas. I’m not one for uniformity. But this gives a balance of consistency and also a bit of uniqueness.

Rafter

{Image from apartment therapy}

This is a great use of space from especially in the kitchen where it is difficult to hang artwork or photos due to the splash factor.

Cluster spread

This cluster of different frames is spread over 2 walls for something different.

{Image from apartment therapy}

Beside a window

Stacked

I think this is a great way of hanging things as it looks really relaxed and easy.

Camera Case

I saw these camera cases first at photo jojo.

The 2 above pictures are from .

I found these at peta pixel. These camera cases are made by Hine Mizushima. You can see more of her stuff at flickr.

I want to make one but first I need to buy my own camera so I know how big to make it :).

Perth

Hello I have been on holiday in Perth to visit family. I normally go straight to my relitaves farm and end up seeing sheep, wheat, cows, chickens and dry land. But this time I acutally had a look around Perth and the coastline. It was beautiful.

I found Aspects of Kings Park. This is a gallery and retail store which has craft and design items.

They had wonderful jewelry these are from Victoria Mason and Meghan O'Rourke.
The other thing I loved was there ceramics.

Also Nancybird bags. Wow really well made with a price to match. One day I will have one of these.

You can see more on there website here.
